These Terms & Conditions apply to all quotations, sales, installations, and services provided by Zebra-Tech Solar Solutions (Pty) Ltd.
1. DEFINITIONS
Client / Customer: The individual or business purchasing products or services.
Zebra-Tech: Zebra-Tech Solar Solutions (Pty) Ltd, its employees, contractors, and authorised representatives.
System: Solar panels, inverters, batteries, mounting equipment, cabling, and all related accessories supplied or installed by Zebra-Tech.
2. SCOPE OF SERVICES
2.1 Zebra-Tech supplies, installs, and commissions solar energy systems as per the accepted quotation.
2.2 Any additional work not defined in the approved quotation will be billed separately.
2.3 Zebra-Tech may utilise approved subcontractors but remains responsible for the quality of workmanship.
3. QUOTATIONS & PRICING
3.1 All quotations are valid for 14 days unless otherwise stated.
3.2 Pricing may change if:
• Components become unavailable or are updated by manufacturers.
• Site conditions differ from the information provided or assessed.
3.3 Clients are responsible for ensuring the selected system size aligns with their consumption and energy goals.
4. PAYMENT TERMS
4.1 A 70% deposit is required to secure stock and installation dates.
4.2 The remaining 30% is due immediately upon installation completion and before commissioning or sign-off.
4.3 Ownership of all equipment remains with Zebra-Tech until full payment is received.
4.4 Late payments may result in:
• Withholding commissioning
• Suspension of support
• Delayed CoC
• Legal recovery action
5. INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS
5.1 The Client must ensure safe and uninterrupted access to the installation site.
5.2 Installation may involve drilling, roof access, or minor alterations. Zebra-Tech takes reasonable care but is not responsible for pre-existing structural issues.
5.3 If structural or electrical hazards are identified (rot, weak roof, illegal wiring), corrective work will be required at the Client’s cost.
6. ELECTRICAL COMPLIANCE
6.1 All electrical work complies with SANS 10142 standards and is performed by qualified personnel.
6.2 A Certificate of Compliance (CoC) will be issued once final payment is received.
6.3 Zebra-Tech is not responsible for rectifying pre-existing non-compliant electrical issues.
7. WARRANTIES
7.1 Workmanship Warranty
Zebra-Tech provides a 12-month workmanship warranty from the date of installation.
Covers:
• Installation defects
• Workmanship-related failures
Does not cover:
• Misuse, tampering, or unauthorised repairs
• Damage from weather, lightning, pests, surges, theft
• Network/Wi-Fi connectivity issues
• Normal wear and tear
7.2 Manufacturer Warranties
All system hardware is covered by the respective manufacturer warranties. Typical warranties include:
Component Warranty Covers
Inverters (e.g., Sungrow, FOX ESS) 10 years Manufacturing defects
Batteries 10 years / cycle-based Performance & defects
Solar Panels (e.g., Jinko) 12-year mechanical, 25-year performance Output & defects
Warranty details are based on the manufacturers’ published documents.
7.3 Warranty Conditions
Warranties become void if:
• The system is modified or serviced by unauthorised parties
• Load limits are exceeded
• Incorrect usage damages components
• Environmental or external factors cause damage
Warranty callouts during the workmanship warranty period are free, but diagnostic or travel fees may apply afterward.
8. MAINTENANCE & SUPPORT
8.1 Zebra-Tech offers ongoing support for systems installed by the company.
8.2 Annual maintenance is recommended but not included unless specified.
8.3 Support excludes:
• Weather or pest damage
• Panel soiling / dirt / debris
• Wi-Fi or network issues
• Battery capacity degradation over time
8.4 Service Call-Out Fees (Non-Warranty Work)
• Standard Hours Call-Out: R1,200.00
• Hourly Rate (after first hour): R850.00
• After-Hours/Weekend Call-Out: R1,500.00
• After-Hours Hourly Rate (after first hour): R1,000.00
9. SYSTEM PERFORMANCE
9.1 Solar system performance varies with weather, shading, consumption patterns, and load behaviour.
9.2 Backup duration depends on battery size and real-time usage.
9.3 Zebra-Tech does not guarantee uninterrupted power during:
• Extreme loads
• Grid instability
• Client overloading
10. CANCELLATION POLICY
10.1 If cancelled after deposit payment but before installation, Zebra-Tech may deduct costs for stock procurement, handling, or assessments.
10.2 Cancellations after delivery or partial installation will incur reasonable costs based on work completed and components procured.
11. LIABILITY
11.1 Zebra-Tech is not liable for:
• Losses caused by power outages outside our control
• Damage due to misuse or unauthorised modifications
• Loss of income due to downtime
11.2 Maximum liability is limited to the value of the Client’s invoice.
12. DATA & MONITORING
12.1 Monitoring systems rely on the Client’s internet connection.
12.2 Zebra-Tech is not responsible for data costs, router issues, or network outages affecting monitoring.
13. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms & Conditions are governed by South African law. Any disputes shall be resolved under applicable South African legal frameworks.
